About

The Solar Ironing Cart, designed by Vinisha Umashankar, is a mobile ironing solution powered by solar energy. This eco-friendly cart eliminates the need for charcoal, making it sustainable and cost-effective for ironing vendors. The cart also includes features like mobile charging points and a coin-operated GSM PCO, offering additional income sources for vendors while promoting clean energy.

How it works

Solar panels power a steam iron and store energy in batteries for cloudy days. The cart can also connect to electricity or a generator when sunlight is insufficient. This flexible, green solution allows vendors to operate without relying on coal, significantly reducing pollution and operating costs.

Applications

  • Mobile Ironing Service: Vendors can offer doorstep ironing services.

  • Environmental Sustainability: Reduces charcoal dependency, lowering emissions.

  • Additional Revenue: Equipped with charging stations for extra income.

  • Remote Communities: Useful in areas with limited electricity access.

  • Awareness in Clean Energy: Encourages the adoption of renewable energy solutions.
